There is a terrific gift shop which offers wonderful brochures and books about this marvelous attraction: undoubtedly the oldest building in the USA. Americans are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to view this marvel and experience the solitude the monks (often only a handful per abbey) lived in. On any given Sunday and during the Holidays, the chapel will be used for religious services (a Protestant service when we were there...) and it can be crowded but the entrance is free. A later visit last year on a weekday and we were all alone. It is a very peaceful corner of North Miami Beach, close to several small restaurants, next to the Arthur Schneider tennis center. My recommendation is to leaf thru one of the educational books and step into this splendor before noon.
