Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes filed a lawsuit that seeks to get Democrat Adelita Grijalva sworn in as the state’s newest member of Congress after House Speaker Mike Johnson has refused to seat her for a month since winning the post.

Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva's constituents have been without representation in the House for more than seven months.

Adelita Grijalva from Arizona won a special congressional election more than three weeks ago, but has yet to take the oath of office. Democrats say the Republican House Speaker is trying to delay this,
