Tensions escalated as a clash broke out between the Patna police and supporters of Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor near the Gandhi Maidan area, following the detention of the Jan Suraaj chief during his indefinite hunger strike seeking action against the alleged BPSC exam paper leak earlier on Monday.

Prashant Kishor on Monday had said that he would wait for "48 hours" and if no action is taken then he would intensify the protests.
