Ahead of the Assembly elections, turmoil continues within the Haryana Congress. Senior Dalit leader and five-time MP Kumari Selja is reportedly unhappy with the party's decision to field candidates against her close associates.

Kumari Selja has reportedly been 'upset' with the Congress high command for giving former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda control over ticket distribution for the Haryana Assembly elections.

Congress leader Kumari Selja, amidst reports of infighting within the Haryana unit, will participate in the party's campaign for the upcoming state polls, announced Randeep Singh Surjewala.

Selja told The Indian Express that she very much remained “an aspirant for the CM’s post” if the Congress wins.

Selja was learnt to be upset after the party gave a free hand to her bete noire and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in ticket distribution, with most candidates who got the tickets being loyalists of the two-time ex-CM.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will miss the party's campaign in Haryana on Monday after being advised rest. Kharge was scheduled to address two election rallies in Ambala city and in Gharaunda of Karnal district on Monday.

Sirsa MP Kumari Selja will campaign for Congress in Narwana, addressing a public meeting amid BJP's allegations of infighting within the party. The ruling BJP has targeted Congress over Selja's absence from the campaign,

Former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday asked Selja to join the saffron party. His offer came after she stayed away from the campaign amid reports of disappointment within the Haryana Congress.
