United States military and NATO officials are discussing a possible plan that could be unveiled in the coming days that would provide Ukraine with much-needed aerial defense weapons, including Patriot systems, by funneling U.S. weapons through the European alliance, officials said.

If the plan is finalized, it would allow critical aid to flow to Ukraine as it endures one of Russia’s heaviest assaults of the war.

President Donald Trump told NBC he struck a deal with NATO on Thursday for the US to send weapons to Ukraine through the alliance, and that NATO will pay for those weapons “a hundred percent.”
