The Lakers drafting Bronny James was always going to become a sideshow for Los Angeles this season when it came to LeBron, but new information about Bronny’s G League assignment is beyond the pale. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that the Lakers rookie is getting phenomenal star treatment during his time with the South Bay Lakers of the G League.

Bronny James' NBA G League experience will be much different from that of a typical NBA rookie on assignment. As the son — and teammate — of Lakers superstar LeBron James, Bronny James is already far from the normal NBA rookie.

Brian Windhorst hasn't minded how the Los Angeles Lakers have handled Bronny James until a recent move. The rookie played in five games for the Lakers, beginning the season by sharing the court with LeBron to become the first father-son teammates in NBA history.
