The Padres have been linked to multiple All-Star outfielders, such as Steven Kwan of the Guardians and Jarren Duran of the Red Sox, but with their farm system now depleted following the Miller deal, Suarez’s name surfaced in trade rumors as a valuable trade assett.

The Padres have no plans to trade closer Robert Suarez, giving them the best bullpen in baseball. They also may keep starter Dylan Cease, after all, with J.P. Sears giving them plenty of depth. Once again, the Padres are all-in.

With limited payroll flexibility and less prospect capital than a year ago, the Padres could opt to move one of the pitchers.
