U.S. News & World Report releases its list of best hospitals in the country annually. The publication also ranks hospital specialties.

Two Chicago hospitals have made the list of the 20 best hospitals in the country. U.S. News & World Report named Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center in its 2025-2026 Honor Roll. It's the 14th consecutive year for Northwestern and the sixth year in a row for Rush.

An air conditioning issue prompted an hours-long bypass at Rush University Medical Center's emergency room during sweltering heat on Monday, a hospital spokesperson said.
