Donald Trump is to send offensive weapons to Ukraine after growing frustrated with Vladimir Putin’s refusal to end the war, according to reports. The US president announced on Sunday he would give Kyiv Patriot missiles, which are defensive weapons crucial for combatting Russia’s increasing drone and missile attacks.

Trump said he would end the war in Ukraine within his first 24 hours in office. His patience with Russia's Putin now appears to be wearing thin.

"Putin really surprised a lot of people," the US president said on Sunday night. "He talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening."
