Produced by A24, the biopic tells the story of UFC Hall of Famer Mark Kerr: his wins, his losses, a battle with opioid addiction and a turbulent relationship with his girlfriend, Dawn Staples, played by Emily Blunt ( Edge of Tomorrow, The Devil Wears Prada ).

While attending the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, Aug. 30, the actor debuted a slimmer physique while promoting his new film The Smashing Machine. In the movie, Johnson plays real-life UFC champion and MMA star Mark Kerr, a role which required him to drastically change his look.
