BATON ROUGE – Quarterback Diego Pavia threw for 160 yards and ran for 86 to lift No. 18 Vanderbilt over No. 10 LSU on Saturday afternoon at LifeBank Stadium, 31-24. With the loss, LSU falls to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC.
Montalvo also ran in for a touchdown and added a 2-point conversion. Quarterback Geo Ramos threw TD passes of 67, 54 and 49 to Montalvo for East Catholic. Gryfn Kobalarz also returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown for Lewis Mills/ Wolcott Tech.
The 17th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores feel they let a big opportunity get away in their first loss this season. An open date let them stew even longer.
