Google parent Alphabet on Wednesday asked a London tribunal to throw out a mass lawsuit that accuses the tech giant of abusing its dominance in the online search market.

The lawsuit is led by consumer rights advocate Nikki Stopford, who asserts that Google's dominance enables it to inflate the costs of search advertising services for businesses. These increased costs are then transferred to consumers.

Google captured a much-needed antitrust win on Wednesday after persuading the European Union’s second-highest court to toss a $1.7 billion fine imposed by the bloc's competition watchdog.
