Iran’s foreign minister warned the U.S. of a forceful response to any attack as military assets move closer to the Middle East.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A spokesman for Iran’s armed forces on Tuesday warned U.S. President Donald Trump not to take any action against the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, days after Trump called for an end to Khamenei’s nearly 40-year reign.

The Pentagon is preparing to send additional U.S. forces and assets to the Middle East, a U.S. official told NBC News on Wednesday.
