Despite a new head coach, the Washington Wizards and prospects Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly were terrible last season. In the summer, DC shipped out Jordan Poole for an aging but still good CJ McCollum, and they also added former Bucks star Khris Middleton. It has made no difference, and DC is again near the bottom of the standings.
In last week's Power Rankings the Knicks came out in the No. 1 slot mostly by default. They had won three straight, but more importantly the Thunder were sliding ( they still are) while the Nuggets, Pistons and Spurs each lost two straight to give up the inside track on the top spot.
