Much of Southern California will be under a flood watch this week and San Diego officials are prepping for the rain and reminding residents that sandbags are available. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for much of San Diego County and Southern California from 10 p.

"This system is expected to be quite cold aloft which increases the chances of thunderstorms across the area, leading to an increased threat of flooding."

In February, 17 people were killed in San Diego-area traffic incidents – fifteen were reported as of March 1, and two additional fatalities, both pedestrians, have since been reported. Eight people have been killed so far in March, bringing this year’s total to 46 traffic fatalities.
