The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the league-leading Colorado Avalanche 4-2 to extend their win streak to an NHL-best eight games.

Brandon Hagel snapped a third-period tie with his 20th goal of the season to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to their eighth consecutive win with a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.

Jake Guentzel scored a pair of third period goals and the Tampa Bay Lightning rallied past the Carolina Hurricanes for a 6-4 victory on Saturday night

TAMPA -- Brandon Hagel scored the go-ahead goal and had an assist for the Tampa Bay Lightning, who won their eighth straight game with a 4-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche at Benchmark International Arena on Tuesday.

Gage Goncalves scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:41 to play, and the Tampa Bay Lightning rallied from a late deficit to beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-3 for their sixth consecutive victory.

The Lightning are currently like rolling thunder, riding a six-game winning streak and looking to push the streak to seven on Saturday in San Jose.

“To reach 1,000 is an incredible milestone, and to be able to do it with one team is even more incredible, especially as a coach nowadays,” said Brandon Hagel. “They don’t seem to have a long string, but Coop’s done an incredible job. ... We wanted to get the win for that guy.”

Tampa Bay is in win now mode, currently holding first place in the Atlantic Division. Still, every team could use additional depth when they get to the playoffs, and the Bolts are no exception.
