Airport Fire initially started 1:21 p.m. Sep. 9 in Orange, Riverside County. After being active for 15 days, it has burned 23,526 acres. A crew of 461 firefighters has been working on site and, by Tuesday evening, they managed to contain 95% of the fire. The wildfire originated from equipment usage.

In Southern California, two counties are sending crews to Orange County after eight firefighters there were injured in a crash. They will help in the battle against the devastating Airport Fire, which is now more than 50% contained after days of progress.

Seven-time Olympic Gold medalist Simone Biles is piggybacking off her success at the Paris Games by opening her own Tex-Max restaurant in her hometown of Houston, Texas. The Taste of Gold eatery is still under construction and will open in the first half of 2025 inside the IAH Terminal at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
