Mikel Arteta said he hopes his Arsenal players “suffer” for the rest of the weekend after a performance that left him “very, very angry”. Arsenal lost 1-0 at home to West Ham on Saturday in a defeat which damaged their title chances.

Despite dominating large spells of the match, the 42-year-old never felt his side were at the level to win the match: “Very disappointed, obviously very angry as well,” Arteta said. “I think you have to congratulate West Ham for the victory and the game that they played.
