Post-election chaos has gripped Tanzania, prompting disruptions to international travel with Emirates cancelling flights to and from Dar es Salaam.
Tanzanian police imposed a curfew in Dar es Salaam following violent protests tied to an election expected to favor President Hassan. Critics allege government repression, and disruptions were reported both in the capital and Arusha.
The $1 billion project will be the second Trump-branded development in Saudi Arabia, following the launch of Trump Tower Jeddah in December last year, Dar Global said. It will include residences, serviced apartments, office space and townhouses.

Police in Dar es Salaam used teargas and live bullets to disperse youths attempting to protest in Kimara Kibo as voting continued in Tanzania’s general elections.
Members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met at Historic Fort Steuben where the group planted a liberty elm tree on the grounds. Following the activity, chapter members moved to the meeting room inside where Chapter Regent Janet Rymer called the meeting to order.
“Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan invited the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Turkiye for the forthcoming meeting next week of the eight Foreign Ministers of partner countries who were engaged on the sidelines of UNGA8o in the diplomatic process on Gaza,” the Foreign Office said in a statement on issued last Tuesday.
