NILES, Ohio — The entire state of Ohio is celebrating a two-week holiday — a state sales tax holiday.

In 2024, Ohio offered a 10-day tax holiday, but this year includes a full two weeks. As per the Department of Taxation, the expansion reflects the state’s commitment to supporting working households and encouraging local spending without adding tax burdens. CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Ohio’s annual sales tax holiday is expanded to a full two weeks this year and runs through Aug. 14. The annual event allows families to buy school supplies, clothes and almost all tangible personal property priced at $500 or less to be purchased without paying 5.75 percent state sales tax, plus the local sales tax.
