One currently overlooked detail in Tua Tagovailoa’s contract with the Dolphins could make it easier for Miami to walk away after this season
It didn't take long for the Tua Tagovailoa contract extension with the Miami Dolphins to turn into a troublesome decision. By the third quarter of Week 2 last year, Tagovailoa was helped off the field with a concussion after trying to run over Bills safety Damar Hamlin near the goal line.
When speaking to the media on Monday, head coach Mike McDaniel revealed that the team will trot Tagovailoa back out there for the Dolphins' Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons. However the fourth-year head coach didn't exactly sound too confident.
The Dolphins are staring at a quickly unraveling 2025 season after getting blown out by the Browns on Sunday, and a large share of the blame arguably belongs to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
The Dolphins couldn't get anything going offensively, as Tagovailoa averaged 4.3 yards per attempt. Tagovailoa has 11 touchdowns to 10 interceptions and is averaging 6.4 yards per attempt with an 82.8 rating. He's struggled without Tyreek Hill and a poor offensive line.
Despite being pulled near the end of Sunday's ugly 31-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will remain the starter for the Miami Dolphins going into their next game against the Atlanta Falcons.
In a new mic'd up clip from Sunday's win over the Dolphins, Hickman can be heard muttering, "Give it to me Tua" under his breath, just before intercepting what would be quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's third pick of the day. Simply magical.
