Hundreds of Aramark’s food and beverage employees will initiate a strike beginning Monday at all three of Philadelphia’s sports stadiums, the workers’ union Unite Here Local 274 announced Sunday night.

"Before we even talk about building a new arena, we need to make sure that stadium food service jobs are good jobs," said one concessions worker.

Unite Here Local 274, the union that food and beverage workers at Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field and Wells Fargo Center, officially went on strike early Monday morning. The union said it's working "to win family-sustaining wage increases and health care coverage for stadium workers at all three stadiums.
