Three months after the fight, on August 31, 1969, Rocky Marciano died in a plane crash. And he never knew that he had 'beaten' Muhammad Ali, because the film was released o n January 20, 1970.

The former world light-heavyweight champion put Marciano down before being knocked out himself in nine rounds. Seven years later, in his second last fight, Moore was a victim of the young Ali.
