Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has some of the traits that turn pros into living legends, and he's close to one in particular.

The Las Vegas Raiders are being linked to Russell Wilson in NFL free agency following the hiring of his former head coach Pete Carroll.

After battling for supremacy in the Pac-10 and the NFC West, Carroll and Harbaugh are now set to square off in the AFC West.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport floated an idea for that veteran presence: Russell Wilson, the former quarterback for Carroll's Seahawks. Rapoport reported that the two have remained close and that Wilson is a strong candidate to sign with the Raiders.

The Raiders' search for a new head coach reached its conclusion Friday as former Seahawks and USC head coach Pete Carroll was hired by Las Vegas. Carroll must now execute the plan on which he sold Raiders leadership to rise from the depths of the AFC West to its peak.
