However, Smart agreed to a buyout with the Wizards on July 20 before signing a two-year, $10.52 million contract with the Lakers two days later, per Spotrac. The 31-year-old is now enjoying a key role on a contending team, as he averaged 27.3 minutes per game entering Sunday night’s matchup with the Miami Heat.
