With each of the Mission: Impossible movies, it feels like Tom Cruise's commitment to pulling off unimaginable stunts is plastered on the screen. Hayley Atwell shared that idea with us, too, during an interview with CinemaBlend’s Jeff McCobb. When asked about the submarine scene specifically, she said:

There’s no denying that the two big set pieces of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning are incredible. Each is one of the most impossible missions star Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie have ever conceived or shot, and each is probably worth the price of admission alone.

So, is “The Final Reckoning” really the last “Mission: Impossible” movie for Tom Cruise ‘s Ethan Hunt? Cruise has teased that this is seemingly the send-off for his IMF agent, and there aren’t any confirmed plans for more sequels in the series.
