The MLB trade deadlien is on July 31 and we’ve already seen quite a few deals made around the league. While American League clubs have been the most active buyers so far, we’re anticipating the National League will get heavily involved very soon. As more deals come in, our MLB trade grades will weigh in on how each club did.

Jerry DiPoto signaled that the Mariners intended to be buyers this summer, with a 1.5-game lead in the race for a Wild Card spot and one of the best and deepest rotations in baseball. The only thing that was missing was a little more offense — particularly at first and third base, where Donovan Solano and Ben Williamson weren't going to be enough.

The Mariners traded Izzi to the Diamondbacks on Thursday alongside Brandyn Garcia in exchange for Josh Naylor, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Izzi has spent all of 2025 with the Mariners' High-A affiliate,

The Diamondbacks continued to make deals Saturday, trading outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Royals, according to a baseball source. The club has not confirmed, and the return is not known at this time.

While Naylor may not be the impact bat that the Mariners had been shopping for, he does have plenty of power. He hit 31 homers as part of an All-Star season for Cleveland in 2024 and should provide more power for a Marines lineup that could use a boost.
