Over 100 shots fired outside Birmingham restaurant in mass shooting that left 4 dead and 17 hurt
The shooting happened in the Five Points South neighborhood, home to the University of Alabama campus and a number of bars and restaurants. Two men and one woman died at the scene, the Birmingham Police Department said. The fourth victim, an adult man, later died at a local hospital.

A total of 21 people were shot. Police originally stated there were 22 people shot. "To the victims and their families, our heartfelt condolences go out to them. That's 21 peoples whose lives were forever changed. That's 21 families who some were destroyed and some were forever altered," said Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond.
