The affected butter is packaged in white paperboard cases in one-pound slabs and contains the UPC code 1 00 78684 73961 2 and the lot code 5064036503. Additionally, the butter was dispersed to 12 different distribution centers across the United States, as well as one distribution center in the Dominican Republic.

A Class II recall was issued July 31 and is the second highest warning by the FDA for situations where use or exposure can cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to the FDA website.

More than 64,000 pounds of butter have been recalled across the United States and in the Dominican Republic due to an undeclared allergen.
