President Donald Trump is bragging that Japan has given him, as part of a new trade framework, $550 billion to invest in the United States.
"They are the party of YouTube," said Jeffrey Hall, a lecturer at Kanda University of International Studies who has authored a book on right-wing politics in Japan.
As part of a trade deal reached this week, Japan agreed to invest $550 billion in projects across strategic U.S. industries, including energy, semiconductor manufacturing and shipbuilding.
