Will they or won't they? That's the big question when it comes to the future of Lyft's dockless bikes and scooters in Denver.

After a six-year ride, Lyft is hitting the brakes on its electric scooters in Washington, D.C., officially pulling the plug on the service starting next month.

Lyft announced that it would be stopping some services in D.C. this October. In a news release published at the beginning of, Lyft outlined its future plans for bikes, e-bikes, scooters and more. The release said that Lyft is discontinuing its dockless scooters in the District.

Lyft scooters will no longer be available in the District starting next month. The rideshare giant announced the decision to pull its two-wheeler electric scooters off the streets starting Oct. 1 as part of an effort to narrow its product portfolio,
