With a bevy of modern titles getting face lifts courtesy of the PlayStation 5 Pro, one storied release shouldn't be left out in the cold.

The presentation was hosted by PlayStation architect Mark Cerny and lasted a brisk nine minutes before announcing the PS5 Pro’s $699.99 price and launch date, November 7th, 2024. Preorders will start on September 26th.

But while PlayStation accessories are already beginning to sell out ahead of the PS5 Pro's launch – the additional disc drive is much in demand – it's actually this Seagate accessory that suddenly looks like an instabuy to me. Especially if you're going to be downloading lots of extra Sony titles for that shiny new PS5 Pro.

In a chat with GamesBeat, multiple prominent games industry analysts, including Circana's Mat Piscatella and Midia Research's Rhys Elliott, expect a theoretical PlayStation 6 to cost around $600, whenever it comes out, though that likely won't be anytime soon.

Sony is celebrating 30 years of PlayStation and the celebrations are quite elaborate. The company has recently announced the limited edition PSOne themed PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro as part of these celebrations.

The PS6 price could reach or even pass the $600 threshold according to some games industry analysts. In a chat with GamesBeat, trusted Circana analyst Mat Piscatella argued that "higher pricing will likely have to be part of the equation" for PS6,
