Chevrolet is taking on the Mint 400, one of America’s most challenging off-road races, with the Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept, a 1,100-horsepower electric pickup designed to thrive in the dirt.

Chevrolet has revealed a ZR2 version of the Silverado EV, but this one is just a race truck, which will compete in the Open Production EV class at the Mint 400. Or at least, it's just a race truck for now.

Chevrolet has introduced the Silverado EV ZR2 off-road race truck concept at the Mint 400. The all-electric race truck will compete in the Open Production EV class, driven by Chad Hall as part of the Hall Racing team. Chevrolet is heading to the legendary Mint 400 desert race with the Silverado EV ZR2 race truck. According to Chevy, this special Silverado EV took five months to develop and uses 98% of production GM parts. The three-motor Silverado EV ZR2 will throw 1,100 hp at the 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 tires.
