As the year-end holiday season continues, storm systems are sweeping across the U.S., bringing severe weather that threatens to disrupt travel, particularly in the Pacific Northwest and along the East Coast.

A change in the flow of the jet stream over New Mexico will be bringing precipitation chances later this evening. Another chance in the flow over the weekend will lead to warmer temperatures. Northwesterly flow is increasing over New Mexico this afternoon.

Snow-bearing clouds are moving into western Montana as we end the week, but good chances for rain and snow won't arrive in our region until later in the weekend. Saturday will unseasonably mild.
