A sixth 'Hunger Games' film based on the prequel story of Haymitch Abernathy is headed to theaters in 2026 based on Suzanne Collins fifth novel.

The Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on The Reaping will have McKenna Grace star as Maysilee Donner. The casting news comes one day after actors Joseph Zada and Whitney Peak were confirmed to join.

Released in March, Sunrise on the Reaping is the fifth novel in Collins’ blockbuster series, which revisits the dystopian world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games. It is the American author’s first book since the publication of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in 2020.
