Julen Lopetegui has been fired by West Ham after less than a year in the job and with the Premier League club in danger of being dragged into a relegation fight.

West Ham United have dismissed head coach Julen Lopetegui after just 20 Premier League matches in charge. The 58-year-old joined West Ham in July 2024, replacing David Moyes. He leaves the Hammers in 14th place, seven points above the relegation zone.

Consecutive heavy defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City led the east London club to decide after it had looked before Christmas that the Spanish coach was beginning to overcome a difficult start to his reign at the club and slowly improve performances.
