The latest criticism from the Trump administration of Harvard University highlighted the number of international students entering the United States each year for higher education.
After the Trump administration announced it revoked Harvard’s authorization to enroll international students, The Crimson spoke to several immigration attorneys to understand what this means for Harvard students.
“We saw that just with the spring sort of enrollment and intake, there was a 13% decline in enrollment of graduate students in the United States,” said Fanta Aw, CEO of NAFSA, Association of International Educators. “And we know the spring semester has a smaller intake. The majority of intake for universities are in the fall.”
The Trump administration is relying on an obscure bureaucratic lever to stop the school, the latest in a series of aggressive moves.
