Alec Baldwin on Thursday sued Santa Fe's district attorney and county commissioners for malicious prosecution and violation of New Mexico's Civil Rights Act over their failed criminal prosecution of the Rust actor.

In dismissing the criminal case against the actor, the court found that the prosecution “intentionally and deliberately withheld” key evidence.

The lawsuit accused prosecutors and law enforcement of wanting to convict the actor of involuntary manslaughter “for all the wrong reasons.”
