WADA, world sport’s anti-doping body, will not appeal against the one-month doping sanction levied against tennis world No 2 Iga Swiatek. The Pole recorded a positive test for the banned substance trimetazidine (TMZ) in August.

Iga Swiatek’s one-month suspension for failing a drug test will not be appealed by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) said on Monday it would not lodge an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case of Iga Swiatek after the former world number one tested positive for prohibited substance trimetazidine (TMZ).

World No. 2 and five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek opened up about her recent one-month doping ban for a positive drug test, describing it as the most challenging period of her tennis career. Speaking on the eve of the Australian Open, Swiatek shared that the ordeal was “pretty chaotic” and labeled it the “worst time” of her life.

The World Anti-Doping Agency will not appeal against the ban given to Poland's Iga Swiatek. The five-time major winner tested positive for heart medication trimetazidine (TMZ) in an out-of-competition sample in August 2024.
