Dean Thompson will join Sam Hunt Racing full-time in 2025, driving the No. 26 Toyota Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Sam Hunt Racing announced Tuesday that Dean Thompson will race for the team full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series beginning in 2025.

Sweeping changes, which involve multiple drivers and teams within the organization, have come to Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2025 NASCAR season.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that four-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion Justin Bonsignore will drive the team’s No. 19 Toyota GR Supra in five NASCAR Xfinity Series races in 2025. Bonsignore made his Xfinity Series debut for JGR last June at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

He tried but Derrike Cope just can’t quite get away from NASCAR. The 1990 Daytona 500 winner co-operated Starcom Racing in the Cup Series for his most recent national touring effort from 2017 to 2021. They went Trans-Am Racing under the Starcom Racing banner but Cope certainly played a lot of golf too.

The 23-year-old Thompson from Anaheim, California, is scheduled to campaign in his first full-time stint in the Xfinity circuit after spending the previous three seasons as a full-time Craftsman Truck Series competitor.

The open wheel modified drivers will run five races with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025 Justin Bonsignore is a well-known open wheel modified drivers. He’s collected 4 championships on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
