CLEVELAND — The Red Sox wasted a series of opportunities in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians and took a 5-4 loss. They didn’t make that mistake in the second game, scoring six runs in the first three innings, one on a steal of home by Jarren Duran.

Jarren Duran had Boston's first straight steal of home since Jacoby Ellsbury exactly 16 years earlier, and the Red Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 Saturday for a doubleheader split.

The Guardians (14-10) are hosting a doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox (14-13) on Saturday, April 26, at Progressive Field in a matchup of two of the top seven teams in the American League.
