Strange New Worlds brought us to the prototype of the Holodeck, responsible for some fan-favorite episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Prototypes are not without their issues and kinks, hence the reason we don't see a "working" version until the days of TNG.

The lieutenant seems to have entered a spicy new romance with one of her colleagues on the ship, though I'm not sure how I feel about it.
