Ray joined Dr Hook in 1969, a couple of years after he lost an eye in a car accident. The band enjoyed a series of hits in the 70s including "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman", "Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk", "Sylvia's Mother" and of course "Cover Of The Rolling Stone". Ray sang: "The biggest thrill we've never known is the thrill that'll getcha when you get your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone."
