Damayanti Amma -- Mata Amritanandamayi Devi's mother -- merged with the Divine at her residence in Amritapuri, India on September 19th at 2:50 pm. She was 97 years old. Monastic disciples, Ashram residents and visitors from the surrounding locality poured in to offer their tributes and prayers as non-stop chanting of sacred mantras took place for several hours. Damayanti Amma led a blessed life of selfless service, sacrifice and love for nature. She will always be remembered as an inspiration. W
